Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay for Outro?

Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) are accounts that allow you to save on taxes while setting aside money for approved healthcare expenses, as determined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Can I pay for Outro with my HSA or FSA?

Yes! Many of Outro's treatment services may qualify for payment through HSAs or FSAs. You can typically use your HSA or FSA card to pay for:

  • Clinician visit fees ($175 per visit on the Platform plan, or included in the Taper Management plan)
  • Monthly or quarterly membership fees — while these are generally eligible, some FSA/HSA providers may flag them and request additional documentation

What if my FSA/HSA claim is rejected?

Some FSA or HSA providers may require additional documentation before approving a claim. If your claim is rejected or flagged, here's what to do:

  1. Request a receipt: Contact us at care@outro.com and we'll provide an itemized receipt with your name, the services provided, and the amount charged.
  2. Request a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN): If your FSA/HSA provider requires a letter from your healthcare provider confirming the medical necessity of your treatment, your Outro clinician can provide one. Just let us know and we'll get this taken care of.
  3. Request a superbill: A superbill is an itemized invoice that can also serve as supporting documentation. See How do I request a superbill? for more details.

Tips

  • Check with your HSA or FSA provider to confirm that your specific plan accepts Outro's services as eligible expenses.
  • Keep all receipts and superbills in case your provider requests documentation after a charge is processed.
  • If you're unsure whether your HSA/FSA will cover Outro, reach out to us at care@outro.com — we're happy to help.
