How does Outro’s program work?

Outro is a new kind of mental health clinic. We’re here to help you come off antidepressants and other psychiatric medications safely and at your own, unique pace. With adaptive tapering protocols grounded in hyperbolic tapering science, continuous symptom monitoring and expert clinical care, we help reduce withdrawal symptoms and make the process smooth and safe.

Here's how it works (Your Journey)

  1. Intake: Getting to Know You
    • You connect with your provider via Outro’s web application and complete your intake forms to provide us with the information we need to thoroughly evaluate your situation.
  2. Evaluation: Our First Appointment
    • Meet virtually with an Outro clinician to review your history, answers your questions, and learn about Outro’s program offerings.
    • If you are eligible and choose to move forward, your clinician will follow-up in a few days via email.
  3. Starting your taper: Care that Fits Your Life
    • Once you're a member, your clinician begins to design your Adaptive Taper Plan: a personalized schedule that evolves with you dynamically and tailored to your body, pace and needs.
    • Custom prescriptions are prepared and delivered straight to your door, so you get the medication you need safely and conveniently at home.
  4. Progressing: Continuous Monitoring & Safety
    • Regular follow-up appointments can occur on a weekly or monthly basis to ensure your taper is facilitated safely and effectively.
    • Between visits, daily symptom tracking and journaling in the Outro Portal enables your clinician to identify withdrawal early, reduce risk of relapse, and support steady progress.
  5. Ongoing Human Support & Community
    • Regular peer support groups facilitated by Angie Peacock creates a community of mutual understanding so you never feel alone.
    • Between-appointment messaging with your clinician and care coordinator, because life happens. Outro providers typically respond to messages within 48 hours on weekdays.
    • More coming soon here in 2026!
  6. Graduation!
    • When you complete your taper, you formally graduate from Outro. This milestone celebrates your achievement of living life free from medication.
    • Outro provides resources for long-term resilience, and our community remains a place of support even after graduation.
